Hello and welcome! I am an assistant professor building my lab at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. My research integrates organismal level processes with community interactions and ecosystem functioning to address pressing conservation challenges, particularly in coastal vegetation. I focus on connecting plants’ organismal responses to the valuable ecosystem functions they support and understanding how marine plant traits, population genetics, and physiology, contribute to ecosystem resilience under environmental change. My work emphasizes the critical need to incorporate genetic and species diversity into conservation strategies.
